How to win a Certificate of Excellence

To all those owners and property managers who have received a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence in 2017—congratulations!

The Certificate of Excellence isn’t an easy accolade to win. We set the bar intentionally high, only endorsing the very best rental listings. After all, travelers trust TripAdvisor and we wouldn’t recommend anything but the best to them. So you can (and should!) be incredibly proud of your achievement.

If you didn’t quite make the cut this time round, then don’t despair—we’ll be awarding the certificate continuously over time! With so many owners and property managers working hard to provide fantastic vacation rental experiences, we want to recognize as many of you as possible.

It’s time to celebrate!

After receiving the email announcement, many winning owners shared their delight on social media:

And some were talking about how it made them stand out from local competition…

There are so many ways a Certificate of Excellence can help your rental business, from an eye-catching badge on your listing to exclusive promotional tools.

So… how do you give yourself the best chance of being a winner next time?

Check your progress

It’s easy to track your progress against the Certificate of Excellence criteria in the owner centre. Have you received enough reviews? Are you responding to enough inquiries? Accepting enough booking requests? You can find out exactly what you need to do to qualify right in your dashboard.

Don’t get complacent!

Once again, we’d like to send our sincere congratulations to all the winners out there. Don’t forget—a Certificate of Excellence isn’t for life. Keep your standards high until October to guarantee you hold onto it!
